Intrinsa treatment
Loss of sexual desire can be linked with decreases in sex hormone levels, such as oestrogen and testosterone. Other causes of low sexual desire include psychological factors, illnesses, or even certain medications. Changes in your body, emotions and relationships cause this loss of sexual desires.
This condition is called Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder, or HSDD affects many surgically women during menopause. Intrinsa treatment helps them!
Intrinsa treatment is delivered via the skin i.e. it is a trans-dermal treatment i.e. it is released into the bloodstream through the skin. Intrinsa patches release 300 micrograms of the active substance testosterone over the period of 24 hours.
Who can use Intrinsa treatment?
Intrinsa treatment is only meant for women. This treatment is helpful for women who have lack of sexual desires and are not easily sexually aroused.
Can I obtain Intrinsa treatment?
You can obtain Intrinsa treatment only if you are a woman, around 60 years of age (Intrinsa treatment is not advisable in younger women) and have a valid prescription.
How long does Intrinsa treatment last?
Intrinsa treatment lasts for a couple of months. However, if you do not observe any improvement in 3-6 months your doctor may advice you to stop Intrinsa treatment.
How to use Intrinsa treatment?
Follow Intrinsa treatment carefully as advised by your doctor. Intrinsa patches should be replaced two times a week i.e. if you start Intrinsa treatment on Monday, the next application should be on Thursday the same week.
Has Intrinsa treatment been approved?
Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) has approved Intrinsa treatment. They concluded that the benefits of Intrinsa treatment are far more than its risks and hence gave Intrinsa marketing authorization. The European Commission too granted a marketing authorization throughout the European Union to Procter @ Gamble Pharmaceuticals UK ltd on 28th July 2006.
Before you begin Intrinsa treatment –
Consult your doctor before you begin Intrinsa treatment. As Intrinsa treatment is only intended for women near 60 years of age in their menopause after their ovaries and uterus have been removed. Do not begin Intrinsa treatment if you are or may be pregnant or are able to become pregnant. Intrinsa treatment may cause harm to unborn child. Do not use Intrinsa treatment if you are breastfeeding.
Another thing you have to remember before taking Intrinsa treatment is; Intrinsa patches are not sure shot way to instant success. Instead the treatment goes on for weeks and sometimes for months. It is very important to regularly use Intrinsa patches with careful diligence.
